Feb 27th

This time of year again for the Southern ESS Champ show judge this year Nicola Calvert (Calvdale). Luke won a good yearling class and in the challenge when I started to move him bang I slipped on the floor and went down - a nasty bruise on my thigh today, bit stiff but hey ho nothing broken and left a little embarrassed I was able to carry on and move him and he took it in his stride!

Ola I chose to enter into yearling although still elidgable for Junior, she won this class in very good company which I was so pleased with as she really was the baby in this class!

Was so nice to meet up with friends that I havn't seen for ages, always a good show for atmosphere good food and friendly kind committe! Thank you every one!

Feb 20th

Today I went to Matlock Canine Soc show held at Newark & Notts showground. No Ess classes so Ola was entered in jun AVNSC gundog she came 1st in this ,Luke was 2nd in open behind a Champion dog. Ola to my absolute surprise was awarded BOB. Then to wait for the group yet again I was amazed Ola won the group then another wait to challenge for BIS which she won whoopie what a lovely day!! She showed her little socks off what a star for me!! Won £20 too!!

Feb 12th

Today was Leicester gundog held at Souhwell racecourse a lovely venue and very decent size ring for an indoor show!

A last minute change of judge from Lee Cox to Tom Isherwood for the breed and a fair size entry too! Ola came 1st in Junior and was RBOB Luke was 1st in Open and BOB!

A long wait for BIS which I think sometimes affects Luke's enthusiasm he did go well and made the cut! BIS judge Lee Cox (Vanitonia)

Feb 5th

Today I went to Isle of Ely Open show held at Godmanchester Cambs . Ola stood alone in Junior ,Luke came 1st in Open and BOB -no RBOB awarded at this show! Breed judge was Ron Ellinor (Lenellie).

Luke moved liked a dream in the group which he won! had some lovely comments about him, group judge Peter Taylor (Brentville).

Feb 4th

Am very proud to say that OLA has been awarded The Jean Taylor award for top Puppy Bitch 2010 she will be given her special award at the southern ESS champ show this month!

Jan 31

The last day of Jan already! freezing outside this morning -8 brrr!

Not so cold yesterday to travel to Cheshire for Lancs and Cheshire ESS Open show, judge today Derek Smith. Only Luke entered in Yearling which he came 1st in!

Thank you to the committee for a welcoming show not the best of entries but this seems to be the trend these days!

Jan 23rd

Not to early a start today to go to Stafford for Manchester Champ show for the opinion of Ken Green (Kenair).

Luke was on good form today and showed very well to win a decent size Yearling class, Ola showed very well and came 3rd in Junior.

Have downloaded Tom Tom sat nav to my I Phone so hopefully no more getting lost!!

Jan 15th

Today travelled to Slough for Bucks Canine soc show, not a good start as my sat nav decided it was dying ater getting damp so it was a guessing game getting there , luckily with guidance from Wendy Walker I did get there! albeit with 30 miles extra on the journey (my fault)

The breed was judged by Kirsty Miller (Feorlig) Ola won Junior Luke won Open and he was awarded BOB, this show was not judged on the group system so all BOB were in at the end for BIS, judge for BIS was Jenny Miller (Feorlig) Luke was placed 3rd BIS out of a very large group!

Thank fully made it home with out getting lost!!

Below is the critique from the ESS club show for Ola!

Carlyquinn Classic Line JW. L/W with balanced head with deep flew ,strong neck of good length.Good angles fore and aft, and ribs deep ,carried well back and quarters well-developed and muscular. Standing on strong legs and feet,moved straight with enthusiasm with excellent head and tail carriage.BB and RBIS.

Here we are again another year past, I wish all friends and fellow competitors and visitors to my site a Happy Healthy Succesful New Year!

Jan 1st was Coventry ladies Open show, what a great show we had Luke winning Open & BOB Ola won Junior and RBOB breed judge was Jill Peak!

Then a long wait for the group well worth waiting for Luke won it!! after that was a RBOB stakes and Ola won that!! Luke didn't do any thing in the BIS a beautiful Internatiol and English Champion Chinese Crestedwon it.
