CARLYQUINN ENGLISH SPRINGERS

JAN-FEB-MARCH 2009

Sunday 29th March Yesterday it was the day of the ESS club show of Scotland Pete was the driver today, Ann Corbett myself & five dogs all set off.

We left at 5am made brilliant time by 9am we were 9 miles from the show venue when our 3 month old Mercedes Vito van decided to die on us!!

Ann made some urgent phone calls to Fran Glendenning & others who were also on there way to the show, Fran & George & Angela Ternent arrived & gave Ann & myself & the dogs a lift to the show leaving Pete in the freezing weather in the van.

After three quarters of an hour we eventually got through to Mercedes breakdown who said they would be with us within 90 mins, two & half hours later they arrived, said the fuel pump had packed up, so much for a reliable Mercedes!!

Pete said about getting us home, he said no will take you to Glasgow they will repair it Monday. Would not tow us home OMG what were we to do. While all this was going on I reactivated my AA membership which was on hold due to having cover with Mercedes. After much debating with the Mercedes call centre they suggested that the garage in Glasgow would point us to the train station. We said no we've got 5 dogs with us they said oh they could put us in direction of hire van.

It was obvious Mercedes didn't care less about helping us!! I rang the AA who got Pete off the motorway at 4pm.

He was taken to the nearby service station where a tow truck took all of us back home changing trucks and driver on the way. We got home about 10 to 10.30.

At the show Jessica won her class Tammy was 5th in Limit. Ann won BIS with Tigra and RCC with Thriller.  The judge was Lesley Bloomfield (Fernlin)

We will never forget this day thats for sure, the phone will be hot tomorrow to Mercedes!!
